LMA’s Pontoon Tour of Homes is one of spring’s highlights on Lake Murray and is the major fund raiser that helps us continue our work for the lake. This year will mark the 17th year we have presented this event. The boats will launch from Light House Marina with two tours being offered.  The first will launch at 9:00 and the second at 1:30.  For guests with tickets the Quarter Deck will be offering a discount for lunch.  Three very gracious homeowners will be opening their beautiful lake homes for this 2013 tour. Each home is spectacular and depicts their unique style of lake living.

Over the years our guests have had many unique experiences as they travel by pontoon to visit the homes. Deer coming into back yards or swimming across the lake or sighting eagles or ospreys in flight are not uncommon.  One group actually rescued a disabled pontoon much to their surprise.

Safety is a prime concern on the tour. As in years past, the Sea Cadets will be manning the docks at each home to assist each guest to board and disembark. Experienced boat captains will drive the pontoons. The boat captains love to share interesting facts about Lake Murray and to make the cruise a fun and relaxing experience. We encourage all to wear sensible shoes and to follow the pontoon and tour safety rules.

Although The Lake Murray Association relies on the Tour to provide the funding necessary to maintain our work for the Lake, we also enjoy sharing our love of the lake with you.  You can make a day of it. Life is about making memories and the Tour of Homes is a wonderful memory. Tickets for the tour make a great Mother’s Day gift that you can share with your mother, grandmother or mother-in-law. Create a memory for yourself. Grab a neighbor, relative or friend and come join us on Saturday, May 18th.

Again, the launching times are 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM, Saturday, May 18th. Check in begins at 8:30 and 1:00.  Seating is limited, and tickets must be purchased ahead of time. Tickets are  $35 per person. Purchase tickets in advance to secure a seat on the tour.
